When are you open?
We are open Wednesday-Thursday from 5:30 pm-11:30 Pm, Friday-Saturday from 5:30 pm-1 am, and Sunday 5:30 pm-10:30 Pm.
How do I make a reservation?
We now accept all reservations for parties of up to 6 people via Opentable. Please see our reservations tab, to the top left for more information.
Because of the size of our space, parties of 7+ require a special reservation. If you are interested in booking for a large party or private event, please read about private events on our reservations page.
Do you accept walk ins?
We love walk ins! However, due to the small nature of our space, it is not always possible for us to accept walk ins immediately. Usually it is much easier to get in as a walk in on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays (when we are not quite as busy). You may also have more luck if you pull the flag right when we open, at 5:30 pm, or towards the end of the night. All walk ins are taken first come first served and based on availability. Unfortunately we will never be able to guarantee walk in availability, but we invite you to come on over and pull the flag. If we do not have space for you immediately, you may be asked to join our waiting list and we will text you if something becomes available.
How does the wait list work?
If we do not have space to seat you immediately as a walk in, you may be asked to join our waiting list and we will text you if something becomes available. If you would like to be added to the wait list, it must be done in person. Just pull the flag and we will get you set up. Please note that if you receive a text from us, you will have 5 minutes to respond to let us know whether or not you will be joining us. If we do not receive a text confirming that you will be joining us within these 5 minutes, we will not be able to guarantee your spot.
What’s the deal with the two hour time limit?
In order to ensure that other guests are able to come in and enjoy cocktails at their reserved times, we kindly ask that you limit your stay with us to two hours. The time limit is only enforced if there is a party with a reservation coming in after you. If applicable, your server or bartender will let you know when your party is approaching the two hour limit, and will ask if you would like to order any additional items before passing along your bill.
What should I do if I’d like to make a reservation for 7 or more people?
Because of the size of our space, reservations for 7 or more people require special arrangements. Please email email@example.com for information regarding large parties. Please note that we are unable to accommodate multiple reservations for the same party on a given evening due to the size and intimate nature of our space. Duplicate reservations will be cancelled in our system.
Is there a dress code?
Nope. Whatever you are comfortable in is fine with us.
What should I do if I would like to change my party size?
All table modifications should be made through open table at least 48 hours before your reservation. Please note that due to the small nature of our space, we are rarely able to accommodate last minute changes in party size. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org in the event of any last minute changes.
Do you serve food?
Absolutely. We have a full dinner menu with many options for smaller plates that work well as shared items. We would definitely encourage you to join us for dinner here. The sample menu page will give you a better idea of what we have to offer. Please keep in mind that our menu is printed each and every day. It is subject to frequent changes.
Can you do anything special for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.?
We will do everything we can to make your occasion extra special. Just include some notes for us in your reservation. Be as detailed as possible. Make sure to tell us the guest of honor’s name!
Am I allowed to order a drink off menu?
We will make you whatever you like, so long as we have the ingredients!
Is it cool if I take pictures while inside?
By all means! As a courtesy to our other guests, we only ask that you refrain from using a flash. And feel free to tag us @capngregory when posting to social media.
Can I request a specific seat (bar or table)?
If you would like to request a specific seat (i.e. bar seating or a table) please include it in your reservation notes. We will do everything that we can to accommodate your request, but due to the size of our bar we are unable to guarantee any specific seating.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept all major credit cards.

Where can I park?
Unless you are the designated driver for the evening (in which case: you rock) we really don’t recommend driving here. If you do end up driving, parking on the street is relatively easy and generally unrestricted in the evenings. There is also garage parking available underneath the Belle Pre apartment building for a small fee.
Where is the closest metro?
The closest metro station by far is the Braddock Road Metro Station. It is on the Blue/Yellow line. The station is located just a few short blocks from us.
Can you accommodate non-drinkers?
Absolutely. Our bartenders are well versed in the making of all drinks, both alcoholic and not. Just tell us what you are in the mood for and we will take good care of you.
Do I have to be 21 to enter Captain Gregory’s?
Yes. All guests must be at least 21 years of age and are required to present one form of valid government issued identification upon arrival.
Can I stage as a bartender at Captain Gregory’s?

Why do I need to enter my credit card information to secure a reservation through Opentable?
We securely hold credit card information for all reservations in order to protect our business from the threat of last minute cancellations and no-shows. If you need to cancel, of course we understand. Just please let us know as soon as possible. Online reservations secured via credit card must be cancelled at least 48 hours before your reservation, in order to avoid a fee of $25 per person. If you are unable to cancel your reservation online, feel free to e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will take care of it for you!
